Performing at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe? You’ll want to apply for the annual EDDIES awards now…

June 28, 2017

If you’re taking a show up to Edinburgh this summer, listen up. Application for the Drayton Arms Theatre’s annual EDDIES awards have just opened, and I think it’s definitely worth a shot.

The Drayton Arms is well-known for helping new and emerging artists to stage their work cost-effectively, and have just announced they’re going to be up in Edinburgh this summer on the look-out for the most exciting companies to give the award to.

In a nutshell, the prize is:

  • an immediate London transfer, with all normal hire fees waived. This will either be a 3-week (1st prize), 1-week (2nd prize) or 2-night (3rd prize) run.
  • the company will receive 100% of ticket sales, so they won’t even take a cut
  • they also cover all flyer, poster printing and distribution costs.

If you’re keen, you need to apply here by August 15th: http://www.thedraytonarmstheatre.co.uk/menu/eddies/eddies-2017. They will then view and assess shows, up in Edinburgh, from 16th – 22nd August to decide on a winner.

Good luck!

Alongside two coursemates, he started an interactive theatre company and has been taking studio shows to Edinburgh's Underbelly, London's Camden People's Theatre and more for the last four years. He works on the production team for The Jamie Lloyd Company and ATG Productions, and also teaches drama and singing at LCN Performing Arts every weekend, an independent performing arts school in Lewisham (which is where he grew up).
